Each day, millions of people access a social media platform to connect with friends and family, consume news and upload photos. Each day, these networks evolve as more people find new and interesting ways to use the platforms in their everyday lives.

Social Media Day is a celebration of these networks and their users, and Mashable is excited to announce that the fifth annual Social Media Day is returning on June 30, 2014.

Even if you can't attend Facebook's F8 Developer Conference in person, you can still tune in online.

This is the first time Facebook has held an F8 conference since 2011. A lot has changed since then — for both Facebook and Facebook developers.
